Drive Mode: write with your eyes off the screen
3 min read
Some of your best lines show up when you cannot look at a screen. A drive, a walk, the sink full of dishes. Drive Mode is built for exactly those moments. You tap start once, and from then on everything happens by voice. You keep your eyes and hands where they belong, and your story keeps growing.
How it works
Start a session and just talk. Speak naturally and Drive Mode captures what you say into your story. It reads confirmations back to you out loud, so you always know it heard you without glancing down. Drive Mode is strongest on iOS, where it can run the whole session without touching the phone.
The commands you need
- Say "new scene" to close off the current beat and start a fresh one.
- Say "editor" to talk something through with the AI editor mid-session, then keep going.
- Say "stop" (or tap) when you are done.

Tip. Do not worry about a weak signal. Drive Mode holds onto everything you say and syncs it back to your story, so a dropped connection never costs you a beat.

Getting started: speak your first chapter
Open MakeVox, hit record, and talk. Your AI editor shapes the rough dictation into clean prose, and your outline grows as you go.
Write your memoir by voice
Tell your life stories out loud and MakeVox shapes them into memoir prose, the most natural way to write the book only you can write.
Table Read: hear your scene performed
Give every character their own voice and let MakeVox perform the scene, like a cast read-through. Dialogue that no real person would say jumps right out.
