Guides
Write your story by voice
Short, friendly guides to getting the most out of MakeVox, from your first chapter to your finished story.
Getting started
Writing with AI
Your AI assistance dial: Tidy, Shape, Co-write, Direct
One dial sets how much the AI does, from a bare transcription cleanup to drafting a whole scene from a brief. Shape is the default, and you can change it per story.
Your words, scored: Voice-Fidelity and the Provenance X-ray
See how much of any passage is genuinely yours. The Voice-Fidelity meter scores it, the Provenance X-ray shows it line by line, and a toggle keeps it your words only.
Build your character bible
Your character bible is the AI's memory of who your people are. Write it or dictate it, and together with your prose it unlocks the Direct setting.
Find the characters in your story
MakeVox reads your prose and pulls out the recurring, named characters, then drops them into your Characters list with a short profile each.
Scaffold your story from a structure
Drop a proven story structure into your outline as a set of beats, then fill each one by voice. A spine to write against, whenever you want one.
Keep character names straight with Name Check
Dictation mishears names. Name Check scans your prose, flags the mis-heard and inconsistent ones, and lets you fix them across the whole manuscript.
Voice & audio
Hands-Free: write with your eyes off the screen
Eyes-free, hands-free voice capture for a drive, a walk, or the dishes. Tap start once, then do everything by voice. Nothing gets lost, even on a spotty connection.
Listen-Back: hear what your eyes skip
Have MakeVox read your draft aloud. Your ears catch the clunky lines, repeated words, and awkward rhythm your eyes glide right past.
Table Read: hear your scene performed
Give every character their own voice and let MakeVox perform the scene, like a cast read-through. Dialogue that no real person would say jumps right out.
In your voice: does this still sound like you?
Voice DNA checks how closely a passage matches your writing style, so AI-shaped prose still reads like you wrote it. It measures style, not word count.
Reading Ambiance: give a scene its own soundscape
Add a subtle ambient soundscape to a section, matched to its mood, so a passage can be experienced instead of just read.
Narrate your book: make an audiobook
Connect your own ElevenLabs key and generate a chapter-by-chapter narration of your book, downloadable as MP3s.
Visuals
Generate images for your book
Describe the picture you want and MakeVox generates it: an illustration for a section, or cover art for the whole book.
See your scene as a storyboard
Storyboard turns a scene into a visual shot list, generating a frame for each key beat so you can see how it plays.
Cast Design: lock your characters' looks
Generate a portrait for a character, lock the one that looks right, and that same face carries into every storyboard frame, comic panel, and video shot.
Turn your story into a film
Plan a scene's shots, render them, then watch the whole story cut together in The Film, a scrubbable timeline you can edit moment by moment.
Make a comic from your story
Break a scene into panels, render the art, then read it with bubbles and captions composited right over the artwork, and export the finished pages as a PDF.
Project types
Write a novel by voice
Talk your novel into being, speak scenes as they come to you, let MakeVox shape them into prose, and keep the whole book in your own voice.
Write your memoir by voice
Tell your life stories out loud and MakeVox shapes them into memoir prose, the most natural way to write the book only you can write.
Write a non-fiction book by voice
Turn what you already know into a book, talk through your ideas chapter by chapter and let MakeVox shape the explanation into clear prose.
Write a self-help book by voice
Talk through your method and MakeVox shapes it into a self-help book, frameworks, steps, and takeaways a reader can actually use.

Start a screenplay project, add scenes by talking, then talk each one through. Polish or punch up the dialogue, and import or export Fountain.
Choose your screenplay format
Write in the professional style you need, whether film screenplay, stage play, or multi-camera TV, and it lays out and exports that way. Switch anytime; nothing is rewritten.
Write a stage play by voice
Speak your scenes, hear the dialogue, and shape a stage play by voice, with formatting built for the theatre, not the page.
Make an illustrated children's book
Tell a short, sweet story by voice and illustrate it page by page, MakeVox shapes the words and generates the pictures.
Write a talk or keynote by voice
A talk is meant to be spoken, so write it by speaking, draft your keynote out loud and shape it into a script you can actually deliver.
Write poetry by voice
Catch lines the moment they arrive and keep them exactly as you said them, a Poetry project built for a light touch and your own voice.
Keep a voice journal
Talk out your day and let it become a journal, the lowest-friction way to keep writing, in your own words, without a blank page.
Build a comedy set with the Bit Book
Capture bits by voice, let MakeVox split a rambling brain-dump into separate jokes, punch them up, and arrange them into a timed set.
Collaboration
Work on a project together
Invite people to a project and give each a role, from read-only viewer to full editor, so a co-author or beta reader can join in.
Group projects into a series
A Series keeps a whole world together: a Show for seasons and episodes, or a Story Series for related novels and scripts.
